Only Chance to Study Abroad

Unfortunately, that picture of me wasn't taken in an exotic country. I wasn't in a land far, far away taking in new experiences and learning about another culture. In fact, I've never even traveled past North America. Yet for the first time in my entire collegiate career, I have the chance to study abroad in Asia. But I need your help...
My Story
My name is Alissa and I am a full-time student working two part-time jobs to finance my education. I recently achieved Bachelor's degrees in public relations and journalism (magna cum laude) and am currently pursuing a Master's of Business Administration in Marketing. I've funded my entire education through scholarships, financial aid, and hard work. Being part of several honors programs and societies, acquiring competitive internships, and holding leadership positions in student organizations continues to maximize my potential. I've grown tremendously throughout my college experience both personally and professionally, but there was always one opportunity that I never got a hold of. I've never had the opportunity to study abroad... until now.
When "Doing Business in India" was announced as a three-credit course offering in the Spring 2018 semester, I knew my time had finally come. Until this moment I have never been in a program where a study abroad opportunity directly aligned with my course schedule and work schedule. I had pretty much accepted the fact that it wasn't going to happen. But with your help it can.
Doing Business in India
Throughout the trip I could be visiting:
• Four regions: Mumbai, New Delhi, Agra, and Kathmandu (Nepal)
• Universities where I can learn alongside natives
• Businesses such as a local shoe factory
• Government establishments such as the Presidential Palace
• Historic sites like the Caves of Mumbai
• Two wonders of the world: the Taj Mahal and Mount Everest
The cost of the 10-day trip covers everything from international and local flights, surface travel, sea travel, lodgings, taxes, meals, entrance fees, etc. Payment is due by the start of the Spring semester on January 17, 2018. Students embark on February 28, 2018 and depart India on March 9, 2018- which just happens to be a week before my birthday.
However, none of this will be possible without help from potential donors like you.
Your Lasting Impact
By donating and sharing my story to others, you can help me grasp this once in a lifetime opportunity. Every act of generosity counts, and each means even more when people give together.
Receiving aid from universities, organizations, and independent donors has been the backbone of my college education. I understand the added stress that finances can add to getting an education, and I hope to give back to others some day in support of students striving for a better life.
Your support continues the cycle, and brings me one step closer to achieving my goals.
Thank you for your time. I am forever grateful for your help.
All my best,
Alissa
