get away before second cancer treatment

As you all know, our dear friend Melissa has undergone several battles this past year. Unfortunately after extensive surgery of a double mastectomy; Chemotherapy, Radiation; and a reconstructive surgery, her battle is far from over. This past week Melissa and her family recieved the news that the cancer has spread to her liver. this automatically puts Melissa at stage 4 Metastic Breast cancer. As far as more detais, I have none.  This request of mine is a quick , really last ditch effort to come up with something QUICK for them, something they know nothing about.

This year Scott and Melissa will be celebrating 10 years of an amazing marriage on June 19th. They have been saving and planning for a family roadtrip to California to take the girls to Disney. They had this planned for June sometime, and unfortunately i think it will be postponed til later in the year. Another dream of theirs is just to travel, the two of them to Austin Texas. Nowhere tropical, nowhere extravvegant, just some good ole Artsy, music filled days and nights. Something they can both enjoy. They never dreamed of planning a trip like this because spending time as a whole family is where their priorities are. They would never dream of asking for help in this way, they would kill me if they knew, and they would never take money for themselves, when they have so many other places to apply it. the medical bills are already stacked high, and in the near future there will be that much more. Scott is self employed and Melissa is a stay at home of those two amazing little girls, there is no option for a weekend getaway for them at this point. They  NEED this though, she is broken, as is he. She is going to need to undergo more treatment, possibly surgery. They need one last little chance to regain some strength, to just breathe and be together with as little worry as possible even if only for a few short days. They need these memories to get through the hard times that unfortunately lie ahead. 

They have no idea I'm really trying for this. They go to the doctor tomorrow and then it will all be layed out in the table. i want to be able to say, GO, enjoy this really quick.

So, I'm shooting for a flight, a place to stay and whatever resources, and entertainment we can provide for them while they are there. Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions so far.

I will not be posting this on my facebook page because she has no idea, i will be emailing and messaging and texting privately, i urge you all to do the same. reach out and pass along to anyone you may know. If everyone i know donated even $5 or $10 we could get there. we could hand them this memory and send them on their way, help give them a tiny bit of rest and relaxation.

I love you all so very much, i plead to you and lay my heart out there because I know you would all do the same for me. someone once said, "The past is gone, the future is not promised, and today, today is a gift"
