We are raising money for the funeral. Herman was taken away from us so quickly. He was strong, athletic, and loved football. The BEST kicker. He was the best father ever! He was the nicest person I ever met and never said a bad thing about anyone. Truly a person that we could aspire to be, who never did anything wrong.
This last time in the hospital, we expected him to come back home so we could continue to take care of him. I loved seeing him every morning, and I'd wake up and make him a shake. We all thought we would have more time with him. Unfortunately, the doctors missed signs that could have been caught years ago. I took him to the hospital in March 2025; the cancer had already started to spread. We did not have enough time to plan his death in May 2025. We all had high expectations that he would continue chemo, which might prolong our time with him. He truthfully thought he would make it much longer. He thought he had enough time to plan his funeral. We stayed by his side at the hospital and avoiding any negativity, we truly tried to stay positive.
Thank you, Molly, for helping us, explaining each step to us, and reading all the medical records, procedures, and tests. We appreciate your love and prayers. As well as the families.
Love, Our Family! Michelle, Christian, Erik, and Reyna. We will never meet anyone like Grandpa in our lives. I'm sure he's in Heaven!
