Gelly’s emergency surgery

Donation protected
Hello, I’m Erica. As many of my friends and family have seen our poor puppy Gelata (aka Gelly, Gelly boom boom, Gella Bella) has been through the ringer in her 1 year of life. Purchased from a horrible breeder who should definitely be shutdown we have had her in an out of emergency rooms since she was 13 weeks old. From congenital deformities to complete mystery issues as multiple specialists have said. I have done my very best to do every specialized treatment she needs from MRIS, CT scans, swallow studies, endless bloodwork and X-rays, to many lifestyle changes as she has pushed along. I had posted a go fund me once before and got very little response and I managed to max out multiple credit cards and cover her past vet bills which I am still paying today. Thankfully, we did have a small time period of just her normal issues (we manage at home) which quickly changed a few weeks back. Our Gelly started acting very strange after playing one day to which we thought maybe she had hurt her back leg, over the next few days we quickly realized this was much more than that. I found myself at Tuft’s emergency hospital after 4 days of her slowly declining and refusing food completely. They found an underlying blood disorder and that she had a treatable UTI. After 5 days in their ICU I got to bring my babygirl home, she had to have an increased water intake and some antibiotics but we thought we were finally in the clear for her. We set out with our treatment plan to which we followed step by step thinking all was well. Sadly, this past weekend Gelly took a turn for the worse again, on Saturday she was showing signs of being uncomfortable when she was trying to go to the bathroom outside, which I monitored very closely. By Sunday she was unable to pass any urine at all, after rushing her back to Tuft’s emergency hospital they admitted her rather quickly for further testing. Through the testing they placed a catheter and did X-rays to which they were not completely sure still of the issue at hand. Today on Tuesday February 1st they performed an ultrasound and found that Gelly has a pyometra which she needs emergency surgery for and an abnormal bladder lining which they will be doing a camera scope of at the time of surgery. I do not want to give up on my precious little girl who still has so much life ahead of her but I am struggling at this time, as I am 8 months pregnant and will be out of work in 3 weeks. I did not want to post this again but was encouraged to my family and friends, if you do not have anything to donate please donate your prayers to us. After losing my other pup in November I am not ready to lose another one of our babies. I thank you for anything anyone can do, She is a large part of our family in a little body.
