The Gayle Newsome Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Gayle Newsome passed on to the ethereal realm today, January 6, 2016. Not even two full months ago, in November of 2015, Gayle was diagnosed with extensive cancer invading multiple systems of her body. After doctors informed her that she may have a year or two at most, Gayle knew that she did not have that much time.
Her first concern was for her grandsons, Tommy, Kenny and Cameron Wright. After fighting for their well-being and safety for most of their lives, Gayle's official adoption of the boys was finalized in 2015. She has had custody for several years, but the entire process was lengthy and difficult. Only months after the adoption was complete, the only real constant in their lives, their Nana, has left this world.
Though Gayle has been liberated from suffering and pain, these precious children and their new guardian, their aunt, Erin Mascha, have a difficult journey ahead. Imagine being a small child who has suddenly been uprooted from their familiar home and the person who they depend on the most. Or, imagine yourself as the caregiver, the person named in the adoption paperwork as the succeeding custodian in the event of trauma or death and seeing that come to fruition only months after agreeing to that possible responsibility.
This family needs our help and support. In lieu of flowers, Gayle's daughter, the boys' aunt Lyndsey Stropkey Kohn, requests that donations be made for the continued care and support of the children her mother fought so hard to protect. To honor Gayle, her fighting spirit, her ferocious strength and incredible love, we honor and support her children, her grandchildren and the earthly angels who now care for them.
Infinite gratitude, love and light.
