Gary Sims would say his cancer is “crappie”!

Over the past few years, he has been fighting a tough battle to beat cancer . Through it all, Gary has been a force of nature - defying cancer with a smile on his face, a positive attitude and tremendous determination to live a happy life.

Unfortunately, Gary is very ill and spending his last days with his family. Knowing Gary he would not want us to be sad or to cry for him. He would want us to remember his crazy stories and his jokes and to embrace every day as if it was our last.

There is no one quite like Gary in this world. He loves his profession and I have. never met anyone who loves being a doctor as much as Gary does. He also loves his fishing, his music, and his wacky tales, but most of all he deeply loves his family. His wife Jen and 3 kids are his pride and joy, and his main reason for fighting so hard against this senseless disease.

He would hate this “go fund me “ post, as he was the most selfless person I have met. However, he would appreciate whatever help we could give Jen and his kids during these trying times. I urge all of those who knew him to be generous and help his family. Please donate to Gary’s medical fund in honor of our dear friend and colleague who we all have been so fortunate to have worked with. Without a doubt Gary is the most overall amazing human I have ever met.
