Help Our Dad's Legacy Live On
Donation protected
On Thursday, November 9th, our father, Gary Sumner, was involved in a terrible accident that ultimately took his life a few short days later. He was sitting at a red light and the person coming up behind him wasn’t paying attention and crashed into him. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where his family and close friends gathered by his side while we continually received updates from the doctors that he had more and more complications. We saw some small improvements on Sunday that gave us a glimmer of hope, only to have it be dashed to pieces the following day when his body could no longer hold on from all the injuries he sustained.
Our father was the hardest working man we have ever known and was always selflessly giving of his time to help others. He had a passion for history and for our nation and he shared this love to all he could through his writing. He gathered many stories from WWII and found a way to make history come alive. Our father self published his first novel “From Fear to Freedom” a few years ago and has been working on his second novel “My Dear Nikki.” He was in the editing stage of this book and his family wants nothing more than to see it completed and in as many hands as possible. This GoFundMe is a bit different than most, because even though finances will be tight, what we’re asking for is help to see our father’s legacy live on.
Please consider donating so that we can finish editing his second book and get it published. He was also in the process of re-editing his first book and hiring someone to turn them into audiobooks. As his family we are a bit at a loss of how to pick up where he left off as we are trying to pick up the pieces of our shattered hearts. But we know through support we can see our father’s work completed and hopefully inspire others to have a love for our nation as he did. If there is any money leftover from this fundraiser after we have completed his life’s work then the excess will go to our mother, the loving wife he left behind. You can also go to his website https://eagles-peak.com to learn more about him and his stories, and purchase his first book if you feel so inclined. Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time.
