Hello, My name is Galen Morris, I am a recent graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design where I studied product design. I've gone on to work with many collaborators and clients alike producing various designs mainly digitally. In anticipation of the work, I would be doing I built a desktop PC part by part that could handle the workload of the multitude of graphics programs I would use on any given day. As of late I have noticed parts beginning to wear and go, and I'm starting to notice; what once was a speedy and reliable workhorse is now a bottleneck and often very frustrating machine to work with as it has grown obsolete. The building or rebuilding of a PC can be costly especially when building with 3D graphics production in mind and the desk itself; But due to my student loans, it makes a big purchase like this nearly unfeasible. To top it off at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic I was one of the millions of Americans let go from their position and hurled into the economic freefall that has been the current job market. So I am reaching out to anyone who is willing to help a Black Designer get back on his feet in these trying times by providing the funds to build a new workstation that can facilitate the production of many more design projects to come.
