Gaia’s Knee Surgery Fund

Hello everyone. Our names are Jorel & Courtney, we are looking to raise money to help pay for our dog Gaia's knee surgery. She tweaked her knee running on uneven snow and ice about 2 years ago and after initially investigating with multiple vets came to the conclusion that we just needed to reduce her movement for her to heal. Unfortunately, we didn't see any improvements despite funds spent for x-rays and physiotherapy. She recently injured herself further, through seeing yet another vet and having more imaging done it has finally been revealed that she has torn her meniscus and ACL. While its great to finally have answers and a potential path to recovery, the bill for such surgeries is too much for us to bear alone. Her poor leg is so bad that she barely weight bears on it anymore and the muscle loss is staggering. Due to Covid affecting both of our abilities to earn our regular income, along with the rising cost of goods and services, we find ourselves in a pinch that we have never had to struggle through before. Gaia has enough life left in her that we want her to have better movement for the remainder of that life so she can enjoy her favorite activities. She loves running so much that she literally used to create a “dog train” at the dog park as other pooches chased her around. But she was simply too fast and was never caught. She no longer has the ability to play in her favorite ways, we can't even take her for walks or even play her other favorite game of tug-o-war. We hope that through the love of community that we will be able to raise enough funds to move forward with Gaia's surgery and recovery.
