Hi there, my name is Bob Turner and I need your help to save Gab.
I have started this campaign to help my beautiful lady, Gabrielle, who has recently been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Which as anybody who has been through this kind of thing knows is quite confronting.
Many tests have been done and unfortunately the type of cancer she has does not respond to any drug treatment, which means treatment options in Australia are limited. The only options that the doctors in Australia have put forward are 6 months of full body chemo/radiation (no other options are on the table). This destroys the immune system with the very real result being that the body becomes resistant to chemo if the cancer was to recur, so any future treatments would not work. The success rate is not great.
Gab has also dealt with Type 1 diabetes for 30+ years which further complicates matters.
So, with that sounding like a crazy idea anyway you look at it we have been searching for answers in other countries that offer far better options with a much higher chance of success. Which would be great as I have gotten used to her being around.

We know $72,000 sounds like a lot - but if we can get this message out to 3,600 people who all donated $20, guess what? We're there.
We have found several hospitals overseas that offer numerous treatment options and use not only the traditional chemo/radiation, but also use an integrative approach to treatment where they offer the latest treatments from biomedical research, (dendritic cell vaccine, medical hyperthermia, Medicinal Cannabis, etc.) which will mean that Gab can get the absolute best care available with fewer side effects and a much better long term survival rate.
We are still narrowing down which hospital to go to, so the following costs are estimates, but we hope to provide as much detail as possible and will update this campaign as more information comes to hand.
Travel/flights/visas: $5,000 for both of us to get to the hospital from Norfolk Island and return.
Medical treatments, hospital stay, labwork, medications, accommodation, food: $62,000
Money to cover the mortgage, insurance, credit card payments etc for 4 months treatment time (worse case): $5,000
So, this is where you come in. Due to the nature of the situation time is very much of the essence and I need some help.
We have some money saved which was going towards our house but shall obviously be going into the effort to get my girl better, but sadly we don’t have enough to get this situation under control.
Anything you could donate to this effort to help save my best friend by getting her the treatments she needs would be the best thing I could ever ask.
Thank you so very much, Bob.

NB: if you are not in a situation where you can donate money, I totally understand, but if you could please share this campaign with your social network to help me get the word out this would mean so much.
If all you can donate is $20, then please do and share with your contacts. If 3,600 people all gave $20 we will reach this goal. Thank you all so much, we appreciate all your help!
