About Me / Why I’m Raising Funds

My name is Jon Richardson, founder of THE GÜDE LIFE and the creative force behind its family of brands: GÜDE SKIN, GÜDE SCENT, and GÜDE GEAR.

I built GÜDE from the ground up, beginning in 2020, with the goal of creating a distinct lifestyle brand rooted in creativity, self-expression, beauty, and confidence. What started with GÜDE SKIN has grown into a broader brand ecosystem serving customers through skincare, scent, lifestyle, and future product categories.

Over the years, I have invested my own time, money, creativity, and resources into building GÜDE. I have documented years of commercial activity, including customer purchases, inventory and supplier records, website sales, marketing campaigns, customer reviews, influencer collaborations, product photography, social-media content, and other records demonstrating the history and development of the brand.

I am now raising funds to protect THE GÜDE LIFE and the intellectual property behind the brands I have spent years building.

What Happened

In 2026, I became aware of another company operating under the name GÜD Life Company whose branding and presentation I believe are substantially similar to the GÜDE brand I have been building since 2020.

The similarities extend beyond simply having a similar name. I have documented similarities involving branding, visual presentation, aesthetic direction, messaging, and other creative elements.

After publicly bringing attention to the similarities, the situation escalated. The resulting public attention generated millions of views, and shortly afterward, additional business and trademark activity occurred on the other side.

I am now working with legal counsel to evaluate and protect my rights.

Why I'm Doing This

This isn't simply about a name.

THE GÜDE LIFE represents years of work.

Behind the name are products developed, customers served, content created, partnerships built, money invested, inventory purchased, websites developed, photographs produced, campaigns executed, and an audience that has watched the brand develop over time.

I believe creators and entrepreneurs should be able to build something original without having to watch someone else enter the marketplace with branding that creates confusion or appropriates the identity they worked years to establish.

I am raising these funds because protecting a business at this level requires resources, and I want to address this properly through the appropriate legal channels rather than relying solely on social media.

This fundraiser is not intended to determine anyone's legal liability in the court of public opinion. The purpose is to give me the resources to have qualified professionals evaluate the evidence and pursue the appropriate remedies.
