GIRVAN WALTERS HEALTH & WELFARE
Donation protected
This is a recent picture of Girvan lying on his old bed. Since my last update we have replaced his bed, painted his house, secured a wheel chair, placed light in his room;secured doors for the premises and arranged a carer for him. Luckily we found a carer last week as Girvan's 81year old mother who cares for him was admitted to hospital this week. Without her there would be no one to care for him as he is bedridden. But the lord provided. All the carer needed to make things work was money for food which I promptly sent by western union. So far I have been paying everything from my personal funds. Presently, we have collected donations of $1220.00 from 10 donations. I am now prompted by GOFUNDME to make a withdrawal by Feb. 6th, 2017.
I have just initiated a withdrawal and realised that after administration fees they will send me $1120.62. I will be delivering that sum to Pastor Blake (Blakeland) who is currently visiting NY and returning to Jamaica on Wednesday. I have purchased toiletries and other necessaries from my own account so that the funds collected will go straight to Jamaica. The money I am sending to Jamaica will be mainly to cover food and the wages for the carer who will work about 5 days a week.
I want to thank all the donors so far and let you know your contributions are well appreciated. I am happy to report that I personally spoke with Girvan this week after nearly 40 years. Happy to report that he is in good spirits and finds his new bed just right. He complained about being hungry, but as I said previously that was promptly addressed.
We have come a long way since this project was initiated and I am impressing upon you all that we are still challenged and we still need your help. No donation is too small. It is all appreciated and being put to good use. Remember every mickle make a muckle. Thanks for your support.
