Help Tenants of Genovese Shore Home
If you know the Genovese family at all, you know the shore is not just a place they spend time in the summer...it is a way of life year round. If you thought they knew everyone on the streets of Philadelphia, don't even try to walk around Wildwood without someone stopping to say hello.
Their house at Park Boulevard has long been a revolving door of friends and family spending a night, weekend, or extended vacation with everyone's favorite family.
It is also home year-round to Nancy Regetta, Janet Genovese's sister who lived in the apartment upstairs...as well as two other families with children.
On Monday evening a fire sparked on the second floor, forcing everyone out of the home.
The GOOD news: everyone is going to be okay.
The BAD news: as you can see, there is not much left of the second floor.
We are heartbroken about the loss of this beloved home, but now need to focus on helping those who called it home. These families need your help! We are trying to provide as much information about all the families as we get it. But please know that it is our intention to divide the financial donations among all the families in need.
The tenants' (that have children ages 1-7) belongings are not salvagable; they escaped the fire with just the clothes on their backs. Nancy is a size 12 jeans/pants; shoe size 8; XL tops. Dolly and Robert have a 14-month old baby girl; Dolly is a women's size 4X top and24 pant. Robert is a men's size M top and size36W/32L. Rachid has a little girl (age 5)and 2 boys (ages 1 and 7). Rachid is size L top and 36 in pants. Rachid's brother also lived in the apartment and is a size L top and 36 in pants. We are asking for (new or slightly used) clothes, sheets and blankets as well. Any donation helps. Thank you!
