I appreciate you being here and reading this:
My name is Gisela “Gyzellah”. I’m a Brooklyn, New York based visual artist and I work in hospitality. I live in my rent stabilized apartment with my two cats in Brooklyn since 1997. I have a lease and pay my rent for 25 years and never had a problem. This is my home and my community.
This year, in January of 2022, my old landlord sold the building to a shady corporation, and I’m going through hell ever since.
The new landlord is using fierce harassment tactics, like sound violence, bullying, and intimidation to the point that me and my pets got sick in the apartment, and I had to leave for safety on multiple occasions. I’m not able to sleep or rest in my apartment any longer.
This corporation wants me out of my low rent apartment. I can’t afford to loose my home base. So I don’t have a choice but to fight.
I started a trial in court representing myself. But I do not know the law and I do need an attorney to help me with this case.
I would be so grateful if you could help me to stand up against these bullies. I have nowhere to go.

NOTE —> This is not a regular housing court case. Free Legal Aid does not take criminal cases. Yet they are helping me and giving me advice.
