Girls Adventure Leadership Science 2018

Girls on outdoor Adventure for Leadership and Science (GALS) - 2019

Dr. Boeing and 4 graduate students from New Mexico State University will take high school girls (grades 9-12) into the Gila Wilderness on a backpacking / camping adventure and to conduct a science project for a week. Our aim is to have girls, who are underrepresented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math; low-income families, minorities) and have not previously had this opportunity experience the outdoors while pushing their own physical and mental boundaries. This will increase confidence and leadership.
