Phyllis battled cancer for several years. She was in critical condition in the hospital for nearly three months until she passed on July 24, 2017.
By her side throughout that time was her only daughter, Shannon. Shannon is the type of person who, despite being handed a difficult deck in life, is always willing to put her needs aside to be there for others when they need her. Despite what she herself is going through, she is always there to offer encouragement, prayers, time, and friendship to others, and willingly has spent many hours doing volunteer work. Shannon has been our friend through college for several years.
Phyllis was Shannon's only parent in her life and does not know how she will cover the cost of a simple funeral, being that her mother left her no assets to cover it. A simple funeral often costs thousands.
We as her friends want to help Shannon with a proper burial for her mother, but being that we have our own financial burdens, cannot do this alone. We ask for your help, even if you can only spare a few dollars.
