Dear Friends and Family
I am writing to you today to let you know about the loss of our sister and aunt Celeste Staten Gilchrist . Friends, co-workers and family are all mourning the loss of — Celeste “CeCe” Staten, of New Haven Connecticut who worked for over two decades as a school crossing guard. Most recently at King Robinson Inter-District Magnet School and at Lincoln-Bassett Community School for the City of New Haven.
On the Sunday morning of September 27th, 2020 Celeste was struck and killed in a hit and run on Whalley Avenue between Davis Street and Anthony Street while looking for her beloved lost dog. Celeste's devastating passing was greatly unexpected. Celeste Staten was one of a kind. Celeste will be remembered for her acts of generosity and kindness, she will truly be missed by many.
The funeral service will be held at HOWARD K. HILL FUNERAL SERVICES, with a date of November 12th, 2020
