Funeral donations for Richard Marquez’s family.

Hello, for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Marisa Marquez. I am setting up this GoFundMe for my parents. My Dad underwent a Liver transplant in 2022. Since then, we have faced some challenges as a family. Overall, we had a great 2 years with minimal complications. This month (June 2024) he was diagnosed with Acute Myelomonocytic Leukemia, a rare form of blood cancer. This news was not easy for my family and I to receive.

My dad is a retired fire captain for the city of Dinuba. He loved his job, loves his crew, and his community, giving a lot of himself to the job. He worked over 30 years for the same city that he grew up in. He should be enjoying his retirement and enjoying time with his nearly 1-year-old grandson. Unfortunately, he has been in the hospital for over a week now undergoing chemo treatments and other treatments to combat any illnesses that pop up. It hasn’t been easy and I don’t anticipate it will get any easier. Everyone who has gotten to know my Dad knows how amazing he really is. My parents are going to need some help with upcoming medical bills. My Dad is going to need a bone marrow transplant and continued care. He is being treated at a hospital 4 hours away from their home and support system.

We don’t know what the future holds but we know that we are all fighting for him to get better and come home. Any help along the way would mean the world to us.
