Funeral & Medical Expenses for Soua (Kasi) Xiong

Update as of December 11th, 2021:

As many of you have already heard, on December 11th our beloved mother has passed away from COVID-19 & Phenomena. If you are able to, we would appreciate any donations to help contribute to our mothers funeral & medical expenses. Thank you all for the prayers and to those who have donated.

Hi Friends and Family,

As many of you have already heard, our mom has been hospitalized due to catching COVID-19 . On October 14th, 2021 my mom was having breathing issues and was taken to the ER at St Lukes South Shore. Her condition has not been improving and on October 20th, she was admitted to the ICU then transferred to St Lukes Hospital. She is currently on a Ventilator, as her Oxygen levels are around 10% and was just recently put on an ECMO machine.

 

The ECMO Machine is a device that pumps her blood through a tube, passes it through an artificial lung that injects oxygen, pumps carbon dioxide while keeping her blood at a normal body temperature and then returns the “arterial” blood - rich in oxygen with less carbon dioxide - to her body.

 

Our mom is the sole-provider of the family, who supports my dad and the my 3 younger siblings, as my dad is unable to work. I never thought that COVID would hit my family like this and it hurts to see her like this. We currently don't know how long she'll be in the hospital for but we're praying that her condition will improve so that she can get better and come back home to us. We're asking all our friends and family to help donate, if possible, so that we can help support my Dad, younger siblings and my mom's expenses.
