Funeral Contributions Welcomed with Gratitude

To all who read this, thank you from my heart…

My name is Graham and I write this with tears running down my face, longing for just another embrace and a few shared loving words with the wonderful loving, caring and generous individual - my beautiful mum, Gillian. Unfortunately this blessed gift of a soul passed away on 4th June 2025, her hand in mine, to once again be in the embrace of her long gone parents, in the heart of the divine.

It was not the easiest life. However, with my loving support as her carer, she reached her 81st birthday this year (2025) despite living with Multiple Sclerosis, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Rheumatoid arthritis; survived a stroke and lived with the decline presented by Vascular Dementia in her latter years.

For someone who always placed everyone before herself and asked for nothing, she was one of the greatest teachers of mine (her loving son). The most significant lesson was that life can be simplified into two words "unconditional love"; a lesson only truly understood in her very last moments of breath when she still managed to say "I love you".

What was she to me... everything.

We shared many experiences through life, our loving bond always holding a connection over any distance. At this very moment it is a difficult time considering I have looked after and cared for her for many decades, the last four years being the hardest as her physical body started to fail her more. The level and complexity of care increased as her life progressed, the last five months, for numerous reasons, being the hardest on my heart; tears shed nearly every day out of her sight so as not to upset her, it was difficult, but at least she was still here.

As her carer it was mentally, emotionally and physically demanding but would I go through it all again to have another minute with her - yes.

Life without her is difficult to come to terms with at the moment, but all I can do is my best to stay strong and make use of the lessons I have learnt from such a beautiful soul so that I can help others with a similar shared kindness for humanity.

Gillian was one of those individuals who came into this world with nothing, had little throughout and left the same way. I have set up this ‘GoFundMe’ to ask for assistance, for the requirement is about £4000 to bring this life long journey together to a close. I also thought it might be a way for anyone who wishes to be part of the remembrance to share in her farewell by contributing to the day, should they so wish.

Funds raised will be providing a simple, no frills or flowers, but respectful farewell, as per her wishes; something I feel she truly deserves.

If you're able to help and make a donation, no matter the amount, I would be endlessly grateful. Every gesture, every bit of support helps me honour her unconditional love on this last part of her life journey; this last path that we will walk together, on the day of her funeral.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, prayers, and your support during this difficult time.

Her love lives on and I will carry her in my heart forever.

With love and gratitude,

Graham x
