Funds for Stranded Aussies UN Legal Campaign

FreeAndOpenAustralia.org is helping the efforts of three Australian citizens who, aided by a legal team led by world-renowned human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson QC, have lodged petitions with the United Nations Human Rights Committee regarding their inability to return to Australia due to the Australian Government’s extreme restrictions on incoming passenger numbers.

These three petitioners are representing all 40,000+ Australians stranded abroad, who have been effectively been prevented from returning home to Australia.

All monies raised will go directly towards the costs of the campaign, such as the legal, marketing and administrative costs, etc. associated with the campaign efforts.

FreeAndOpenAustralia.org is comprised of a group of passionate volunteers who themselves have been affected by the restrictions. We really appreciate the outpouring of support that we have received so far and are confident that our collective actions are likely to have a positive impact to improve the situation for those currently caught abroad.

On April 15 2021 The UN HRC has requested that the Australian Government enable the claimants we have put before them be repatriated to Australia.

We need your help to continue our good work on this legal approach to getting all Stranded Australians home ASAP.
