Help our young performers be heard.

The Avenue Theatre is a special place for children and young people. We are a volunteer-run charity, and through our in-house performing arts group, ATP JR, we provide a safe, supportive, and welcoming space where children can have fun, learn new skills, make friends and grow in confidence.

For many of our young members, being part of ATP JR helps them find their voice – both on and off the stage. We encourage creativity, teamwork, self-belief and a real sense of belonging. These experiences can be truly life-changing for children and young people.

Our young performers work incredibly hard rehearsing and taking part in productions, supported by a dedicated team of adult volunteers who ensure every child has a chance to shine. Having reliable, good-quality microphones plays a huge role in this. Microphones allow every child to be heard clearly, boost confidence on stage and help them feel proud of their performance.

Unfortunately, the theatre’s current microphones are ageing and no longer meet the needs of our growing youth productions. As a volunteer-run charity, funding for equipment upgrades is very limited, so we rely on the generosity of our community to help us continue providing these opportunities.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards purchasing new microphones that will be used by ATP JR members in future performances. These microphones will help ensure every child’s voice is heard and valued.

To help raise funds, some of our ATP JR members – both children and adults – will be taking part in an ultimate singing challenge. They will be singing their hearts out for 12 hours non-stop.
