Help Fund My Education!

Hi everybody, my name is Corey Stuckey, and I've recently been accepted to 27 colleges. And I'm dedicated to my first decision, Morehouse! After all, this institution has been my dream for as long as I can recall. I'm planning to do a double major in sociology and psychology with the intent of earning my master's. l  will also be doing a double minor in criminal justice and political science. With these degrees, I will continue to strive in the entrepreneurship sector and continue to campaign for the under-represented and disadvantaged communities. Now some may wonder why I am going to Morehouse to pursue sociology and psychology. Well, let me explain, sociology is the study of human behavior, referring to social behavior, society, patterns of social relations, social interaction, and culture that surrounds everyday life, and psychology is the science of mind and behavior. Including the investigation of conscious and unconscious phenomena, as well as feeling and perception. I believe that these two majors are vital to the evolution of humanity and civilization in the coming years. Recognition of social behaviors and mind behavior will not only strengthen your understanding of one's problems it will help you not only solve the issue but also to build solutions. I believe that I have been recruited by people to transform humanity. Since the age of 14, I have been advocating, educating, and inspiring the misguided and vulnerable! And going to college is the next step in this process of changing the world. It is essential for me to raise $25,000 so I can get everything I need for college. In order for me to commit to Morehouse, I will have to pay $500 for my Enrollment Deposit, $2,500 to get all the necessary supplies for school (a laptop, a printer, bed lifts, living supplies, cleaning materials, and necessary basic school supplies) $20,000 for room and board, leaving $2,000 for transportation to get to school in the fall. Any donation is greatly valued, by donating you will be helping me create a legacy of being the first in my family to go to college!

The Lifes Challenges That Made ME!

I have grown to realize that life is about trial and error. Life has obstacles, ups and downs, and challenges that try to limit your life growth. In all honesty, the biggest challenge you could ever face is yourself. By definition, an obstacle is an object, thing, action, or situation that causes an obstruction. On the other hand, life's meaning of an obstacle is very different. In other words, a block or barrier could be various things; poverty, lack of parenthood, your neighborhood, your skin color, and once again yourself. My biggest obstacle has been all of the above. My life is the definition of a challenge; from the time I was born until the present-day, overcoming obstacles has been my life.

On June 24, 2014, I was hit by a car. This accident was the worst experience for an 11-year-old ever to face. "Face" the irony in this word amuses me because not only did the accident scar my face, but it scared my life. Making middle school was the worst experience ever! I was bullied and bashed for not looking the same, getting in fights every day for trying to fit in. I felt invisible and was in search of reassurance. Those were the worst three years of my life. My teachers, friends, and family did not know what to do about the excruciating depression that swelled up inside me like a balloon, ultimately, releasing anger, depression, and heartache. However, depression is too bland of a word to describe the unfathomable pain and emotions I was fighting every day. Thoughts of killing myself ran through my head like a New York marathon. Although this pain was excruciating, I decided not to break. Every day hundreds of people around me start to become a statistic, allowing society to break them and eventually falling into the harsh traps of the world. I, for one, could not be added to that stereotype.

I have learned that there is no way to avoid obstacles….. So I decided to turn my obstacles in to drive and dedication. As life goes on, obstacles get more extensive and harder to understand. My life, as a matter of fact, all of our lives are built off a system of barriers put in our lives to help us evolve into true successors. Understanding the true meaning of my obstacles and challenges allowed me to embraced them as lessons, teaching me not to limit myself. Everything that has happened to me in the past allowed me to get to where I am now.  In retrospect, my whole life has been an obstacle. Challenges, losses, and setbacks are my everyday lessons to success. Although I am only seventeen with many years to come, I know that success is only a reality when you are dedicated. Help contribute to my dedication to improving the world!
