Funding for Our Friend Pat McIntyre
Donation protected
While raising her grandbabies, as she refers to them, wasn’t in her old age plan, Pat McIntyre wouldn’t have it any other way. Pat who is 63, has a full time job as a collector on the fee billing team at Medefis, and her husband John is 75 and retired. They have had custody of four of their grandchildren, ranging in age from 8 to 17, for the past three years.
This would be challenging enough for anyone, but the youngest child, Seth has medical needs that have taken a toll on the family emotionally, physically and most of all financially. Seth has chronic hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, seizure disorder, and is nonverbal. He is in a wheelchair, and is totally dependent for feeding and changing diapers etc. On the morning of August 17th, he suffered his most severe seizure and was rushed to Children’s Hospital, as paramedics saved his life along the way. He slipped into a coma the next day, but thankfully woke up on August 23rd. Everyone is celebrating his progress such as opening both eyes and starting to swallow again.
Our vivacious and generous friend, Pat has been doing her best to provide security for all her grandchildren, while also making modifications to her home for Seth. Pat always amazes us with her positive attitude and thoughtfulness. Now we want to show our support by helping with some of the mounting expenses, and hope that many of you will consider donating as well.
