Meet Fright, my 1.5-year-old domestic shorthair, and my lifeline.
Fright was diagnosed with late-stage kidney failure and is at risk of going into renal failure, With dialysis treatments she should’ve been able to make a full recovery… something we never thought was possible when this started.
The original cost of this treatment was going to be upwards of $30,000 and we started the gofundme.
When I was younger my dad was diagnosed with cancer and given an incredibly slim chance at life. His treatments cost more than we had but we couldn’t give up on him and I couldn’t give up on Fright either.
Unfortunately Frights treatment would end up causing more harm than good to her poor body, unbeknownst to us and her doctors her blood was pooling in her intestines and stomach, slowly depleting her blood supply, and white blood cell count. Both crucial for the dialysis to work.
While receiving her second treatment we received an update that she wasn’t doing well and we got the news of her internal bleeding and that we would need to come see her now if we wanted to see her again.
We saw her and held her before deciding that is was time to say goodbye to our baby. It was no longer humane to keep her with us.
Unfortunately even with her passing, her emergency care, first two dialysis treatments, blood transfusions and euthanasia still need to be paid for.
