Greetings! My name is Kenni, and my passion for animals led me to become a volunteer at the Henderson Animal Shelter. I have seen firsthand the heartbreaking reality of abandoned animals waiting for their forever homes, and I knew I had to do something to help. That's why my volunteer partner and I started a non-profit organization called Friends of Henderson Animal Shelter. We are dedicated to supporting these animals and making sure they receive the love and care they deserve while waiting for their forever family.

We believe in the importance of connecting with our community and enhancing the lives of everyone, including the animals at our shelter. Many of these animals have suffered from neglect and abuse, and we provide them with the love and care they deserve until they find a loving family.

Our goal is to work together with the City of Henderson to provide financial, volunteer, and emotional support in ensuring the welfare of shelter animals. Although we understand that city officials are working hard to address more extensive facility issues, we want to collaborate on projects that are specifically designed to benefit our beloved animals. We are dedicated to ensuring that the animals in our care receive the attention, care, and resources they need to thrive.

The shelter is overwhelmed with animals each day, and they spend long hours in their kennels, hoping for a loving family. We work tirelessly to make their stay comfortable and enjoyable, but we need your support. Help us give these deserving animals a chance at a happy life while they wait for their forever homes.

We believe that setting up our adoptive parents and their new family member for success is crucial. If we can provide the necessary items, such as collars, leashes, food and water bowls, toys, beds, food, and sometimes kennels, adoptees and pets can bypass the pet store trip and go straight home to start their new life together.

To increase the chances of dogs being adopted, we must spend quality time with them to ensure they will fit the potential adoptee(s) well. Your donation will go towards indoor toys, outdoor exercise yards, and toys, allowing them to burn off energy while engaging with other dogs and volunteers.

Our cattery needs more kennels and cat towers, providing cats a place to relax, thus lowering their stress levels. We hope that our fellow community members will join us in giving these amazing animals a good life while they are in our care.
