Hi, my name is Rick and I'm fundraising to help my friend and coworker Hector Gessa and his family financially while they get through his illness.
Hector, contracted COVID-19 in late October of 2021 and was subsequently hospitalized in early November. As of this writing (early December), he remains in ICU and has recently been intubated due to low blood oxygen levels. He shares three teenage children with his ex-wife, who is a nurse and has been by his side throughout these difficult times.
As a father, his dedication to his children is displayed daily. He is always talking about his kids and how he can influence their future. Ask any coworker and they will tell you that if you are meeting with Hector in the afternoon, you should be prepared for an abrupt stop to check on his daughter's journey home from school. If he could not locate her, you may as well reschedule the meeting.

As a friend, he will always tell you things they way they are; no fluff and to the point. You are always ensured that he will be honest and truthful, even if it means telling you something you may not agree with.
As a professional, he is logical genius and a problem solver, always up for any challenge, always willing to listen and ready to share his perspective. You can always count on him suggesting several possible solutions. He is incredibly reliable and extremely focused. He fully immerses himself in any project. Through the years, I have learned to rely on his advice and expertise.

Hector has been in the hospital for over a month now. When dismissed, he will most likely still have a long road to recovery ahead of him, involving therapy and many unknowns.
I ask that you please join me to help Hector and his family in these extremely difficult times by donating any amount you can. 100% of your donations (minus any GoFundMe fees) will go to his family to use towards any financial burden they have accumulated or as they feel is needed.
