Dear Friends of Elf,
As many of you may know, we were compelled to suspend service after 14 years at our little home on Sunset Boulevard. This was no easy decision and one which we weighed carefully before making. It broke our hearts to announce it.
Elf was created nearly out of thin air with no roadmap or budget. Miraculously, it all came together and a community was born. From the first evening’s service to the last, we felt it was a place where magic dwelled. First dates, birthdays and anniversaries.
There were wonderful times and difficult times. Now, we remember only the beautiful moments and the strong feelings of friendship and family. We are profoundly grateful for our community and our longevity.
Through it all, we always felt that Elf belonged just as much to our community as it did to us.
It is our greatest desire to see the spirit of Elf live on. We would like to hang on to our little home on Sunset Boulevard so that it may yet be a place of community and family. Even in the best of times, Elf just managed to support itself and during difficult times, it has often been a struggle.
We are now turning to you, our community and asking for your support to keep the dream alive. The worldwide pandemic has affected everyone and we realize that many people are far less fortunate than we have been and we stand in solidarity with them. We know that everyone is financially affected in one way or another but we are asking, if you are able, to please support Elf in our endeavor to rise like a Phoenix when we are able.
Your support will help us maintain our lease, pay open invoices and payroll obligations, service Covid related debt and help fund our Elf story/cookbook. We are very proud of what Elf has become and very much look forward, with your help, to keep the dream alive.
