Freedom Training Center is a Veteran/Law Enforcement/Fitness Competitor owned gym, located just outside Joint Base Lewis-McChord in McKenna WA. Since opening 2 years ago FTC has trained Women, Men and Children from all walks of life. Our speciality is people, and we adapt to whoever walks or rolls through our doors.
Since opening we have been honored to Train injured veterans who are paralyzed or have lost limbs. The mental training can be at times more challenging then the physical for these men/woman . Many have been through a tough battle with learning to adapt in such a different enviroment .This process can be challenging at times as we have to learn and adapt daily using standard gym equipment, and our leadership skills in LOVE, Mental Awareness, Coaching and Leading. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help our gym and community gain some special "Adaptive" equipment and courses to help us become better for others and our facility here at FTC.
As part of this fundraiser FTC owner Melanie Medlock will Run, Walk, Jog and Bike 400 loops around our facility which equals about 134 miles. This will take approximately 20 hours. She will also be lifting at certain locations to honor POLICE, MILITARY, and FIRST RESPONDERS along our course which will include 400 reps of each Exercise of Deadlifts, Push-Ups , ROPE, Pull ups Squats, ect. During this Freedom-thon Melanie will be joined by fellow owners Zack and Brad as well as our Staff John and Gina at various times. She will also be joined for laps by our Adaptive Athletes, members, and our youth who have volunteered to keep the American Flag going around the track continiously for 20 hours.
As a thank you from FTC we will be giving away 1 year Training and Nutrition program to a injured Police Officer who is trying or has recently returned to work as well as a 1 year Training and Nutrition program to a injured Veteran or First Responder who is trying or has recently returned to work. WE will be on FB LIVE and Instagram for the Event.
