This letter is about a man named Fred Bross, a Son, Brother, Uncle, Father and Grandfather. Many of you do not know Fred personally and that's too bad, because he is a fine man, great guitar player, and a humble man who never asks for anything. We, his family would like to ask for your help. Fred has a major health issue that he has suffered with for 10 or more years, which is very serious and extremely painful. Several spine doctors on Long island have deemed his problem inoperable, because the damage was too close to his spinal column. He has for several years gone through various treatments including physical theropy(which was extremely painful, and not helpful). He has also undergone a series of injections, and serious pain medications. He is at his " wits end". We are currently looking into Laser Surgery, which is somewhat new, and will be much less invasive and hopefully treat the nerves which are pressing on his spine. We have found the Laser Spine Institute in Allentown, PA. which performs the surgery to help him, with less risk of infection, and a very short recovery time. This surgery will also end his dependance on dangerous medication. We have contacted the doctors there, and a group of doctors have gotten copies of Fred's previous MRI's and after they investigated them, they have notified Fred that they will surely be able to help him. However, it will be extremely expensive, considering the surgery, overnight accomadations for 4-5 days, meals and travel expenses. Naturally, Fred's insurance will cover a small portion of the cost, but nowhere near the amount necessary. Therefore, we are appealing to our friends, relatives, aquaintances, and anyone interested in ending Fred's suffering. Whatever you can contribute to our "mission", be assured that Fred and his family will be forever thankful and extremely grateful for anything you can do to help. You can't imagine what an extreme pleasure it would be to see Fred pain-free after all these years, and maybe be able to hold a guitar and play again, but mainly to see him able to walk, sit and enjoy life pain-free once again. He now takes pain medication which barely masks his pain, and are dangerous to his health. There are days when the pain is so severe that he cannot take care of his everyday normal tasks. If you are able to contribute, whatever you are able to do will be unbelievably appreciated. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Mom(Pat), Brother Peter, Mark, and many thankful relatives and friends.
P.S. If you choose to contribute to our dilemma(and we pray that you will) be sure to include your name and address so that we can respond with our thanks, love and our forever greatfulness.
