The risks of mothers and babies dying is very high when mothers are traveling for several hours to get medical assistance.
For instance, when a mother is in labor for two to five days, she encounters difficult childbirth complications. Her family puts her in a truck for several hours to the nearest health facility to save the life of mother and baby.
Even if the family can afford the cost of transportation, the risk of maternal death is very high. For those who cannot afford to take women in labor to another region, the risk of death for the mother and baby is even higher.
Let's come together to build safe and working health facilities in order to dramatically decrease maternal and child deaths and create a thriving and healthy community in the rural towns of Somalia!
We ask the global community for help in our efforts to save thousands of lives!
