Cassidy & Avery's Memorial Fund For Jose Portillo
Donation protected
August 21, 2020, Jose Manuel Portillo, my best friend who was basically a brother to me, has tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in a car accident. Jose is survived by his wife, Cassidy Forino, who he loved so dearly and Avery, his three-year-old daughter, who was the light of his life.
Jose unselfishly dedicated his life to helping those around him and always put other's needs before his own. He had a great passion for cooking and loved to get others to appreciate the culinary arts. He was truly an amazing person and one of a kind. Jose was a hard worker, caring, loving, and above all the best Dad he could ever be. I was lucky to call him my friend, my brother because he became family.
I always looked up to him because he respected me and inspired me to do better. He always pushed me to become a better person. While it is hard not to breakdown writing this and remembering every moment that we spent together, I am inspired to keep going and never give up because that’s what I learned from Jose. He taught me to help people without expecting anything in return, to fight for my dreams, but most importantly, to believe in myself. To honor Jose and his life, I will fight to continue doing that. I will forever cherish our memories together.
We are all devastated by Jose’s loss because you don’t expect to lose someone so young. We want to give Jose the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory, and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Jose’s Funeral and cover any upcoming expenses such as Medical Bills. Excess donations will be set aside for Avery’s future/Education. I know that this is a challenging time for everyone right now, but any support you can share is deeply appreciated. Donations are also being accepted through CashhApp and Venmo @ForJose821
I will never forget you and I will remember you at all times. Not only as my best friend but as my brother who will watch over me from Heaven and take care of all of us. Wherever you are Jose, just know that your loved ones love you and we’ll always be here with you and keep your memory alive.
Thank you for all the memories, for the good times, and for everything you taught me. We will meet in heaven one day.
With Love,
Your Brother Able
