In 2025 40% of U.S. high school students report feelings of hopelessness and 20% have considered ending their life. On September 16th my 14 year old daughter Aleyah was among the 20%. Aleyah had a near fatal self induced fall that resulted in emergency surgery. We, her family and close friends, are now thanking God that she is still here with us.
As a result of her accident, Aleyah has a long recovery ahead of her. With love and support from her family she is going to be ok. We are going to get through this together. She will not be able to walk for at least 3 months, and then rehab can begin. She will need someone with her for all things, including simple activities of daily life. As her mother, I have decided to pause working and business to stay home with her until she can mentally and physically function on her own again. Any parent will understand that regardless of what you have going on in life, your children will always come first.
I struggled with creating this Go Fund Me. I don't know if it's necessarily pride, I just never thought this would be me or our lives. What I do know is that life is unexpected. And at this moment in time, all that matters is being able to take care of Aleyah's needs.
Please pray for us. Pray for Aleyah, that God heals her body, mind and spirit. If you are able at this time to contribute to her recovery and the life changes we will face, with gratitude I thank you.
