Flood Relief - Dan Connor and Brianna Sweet

Hello, folks. As most of you already know, on Sunday September 10, yet another flash flood destroyed the apartments at Dean Estates. All 24 apartments in this building have now been condemned and almost 90 people have been displaced, including myself and my fiancee. We are all but homeless at this point and we are not sure what legal recourse we have, if any. The property owners offered us one month's rent and our security deposit back, as well as a $500 gift card under the condition that we waive their liability in this matter, which is simply something we can not do. For far too long this property has been infamous for displacing residents during times of heavy rain and storms. The various property owners since the 1970's have known about this property's problems and have done NOTHING to fix it. Now, the structure itself has been compromised and we may not ever be allowed in to retrieve any belongings or furniture that wasn't damaged. 8 months after moving in in 2021 we lost both of our cars in one night because we simply were never told. And now, we've lost our home entirely. I am asking my friends, family, and community for help, with every bit of humility, as we need to find ourselves a new home and most likely furniture as well. I will be using a portion of this fund to also help my neighbors on the first floor who have lost their entire lives, lost pets to drowning, etc. We will also be using some funds for any legal fees we incur as we attempt to hold the owners of this property accountable. Any little bit will help, all funding will come to me and I will then use what I can to help others, and we will update all of you every step of the way on how it's going.
