Before you read, please understand that it took convincing to get him to agree to allow me to create a GoFundMe. This family is full of hard workers who are very willing to help other people, but never ask for anything from anyone.
Hey Y'all, my name is Charlotte and I am starting this GoFundMe for my father-in-law, Steven Loving, who was recently diagnosed with Abdominal Carcinoma, stage 3 colon cancer that has spread to his lymph nodes.
He has already underwent the removal of a little more than half of his colon, and is currently resting. He will be going back to his Clinical Oncologist on the 27th to start his Chemotherapy treatment, which he will be receiving through a port that will be surgically placed.
Husband. Dad. Paw-paw. Friend. These are the most important titles that he holds, and by far, the most valuable.
Hugs from him are warm and welcoming, and he is absolutely adored by his grandchildren. He is the friend that people turn to when they need advice or they need someone to talk to, and he's the dad who tells his children what they need to hear. To say he is loved, is an understatement.

Background
Starting in 1985 when he was still in High School, Steven dedicated his time and energy to serving his community, joining Tri-County EMS as a non-med volunteer. In 1987, he started volunteering with the Ingleside Volunteer Fire Department where he was voted in as Chief in 2016, holding that title until 2022.
Somewhere in the midst of his services he also worked as a paid Firefighter with Aransas Pass, gaining the position of Lt.
In 1996, he became a sheriff's deputy with San Patricio County. Eventually he became a Senior Deptuy, Senior Investigator, and Fire Marshal for San Patricio County. He retired from his investigative position in 2022, after being encouraged to apply for the position of Fire Marshal for the City of Brenham, TX. His application was accepted and he currently holds that title/position. As someone who has been around this family, I can tell you that they are working very hard and doing everything they can to pay for medical bills, co-pays, procedures and tests not covered by insurance, and all of the in-betweens. His diagnosis will require lots of travel to MD Anderson, where he is being treated. I am reaching out to the communities that he has served, as a way to say, "Hey, we see your struggle, we appreciate the life that you have dedicated to us, now let us help you in your time of need."
