Master Finnbar decided to enter the world a little earlier than planned and as a result experienced a traumatic brain injury at birth. He was subsequently diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Hydrocephalic. In late 2024, we were told that he also has autism and a learning difficulty.

When Finnbar was born, we were informed that he may never hold up his head, communicate or walk. With specialist equipment purchased privately and sheer determination Finnbar is beating all the odds. At eight years old and having endured countless surgeries on both his brain and his legs, he can now walk with a frame and is able to attend a special needs school which he loves.

His learning is slightly delayed, and he needs support to use the toilet, but he can now proudly talk (a little too much at times lol) kick a ball and write his own name. He does use a wheelchair but can now walk with a frame for 15 metres.

As a family, we are determined to give him the best possible life we can. The NHS although incredible, are extremely short of funds. Finnbar has limited access to physiotherapy and occupational therapy - his best chance of continued movement and physical development is self-funded physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.  Each private Paediatric Physiotherapy session is £90.  We would like to raise £5K so that Finnbar can have a weekly session for the next year.

We would love to be able to support Finnbar with weekly physiotherapy/Hydrotherapy and/or specialist equipment to ensure that he has every opportunity to reach his full potential whatever that may be for him.
