Hello, my name is Walid Ali Murtaja, I am 31 years old, a father of three children, I’m a Palestinian from Gaza, i used to be civil engineer working with one of the biggest contracting companies in Gaza before my life took a heartbreaking turn during the conflict in Gaza. I’m currently in Gaza city, facing relentless attack, Today, I come to you with an urgent plea that comes straight from my heart. I am writing my story after experiencing 150 days of horror, hunger, and continued fear. My family and I are in dire need of your support to Escape War's Grip in Gaza.
My family, I (Walid), my wife, my children (Kenzy 3 years old, Ali 1 year old and Karma 3 months old), sister, and my mother left our house at Al-Remal / Gaza city / Gaza Strip. We couldn’t get much of clothes and needed personal stuff. We left all of a sudden after the Israeli army requested all the inhabitants of Gaza city to leave their homes to the southern part of Gaza Strip ( south of Wadi Gaza ).
Over the past five months, Gaza has endured extreme condition, including the loss of our home, relatives and livelihoods due to ongoing bombardments.
My lovely and wonderful home with all my cherished memories and dreams was destroyed.

Another significant circumstance to highlight is the recent destruction of the family's second home, which occurred just as we were in the process of completing its design. This devastating setback comes after I and my wife invested all the money we had accumulated from our own work, all with the intention of securing a better future for our children . This unexpected loss further compounds the challenges we face, adding to the urgency of our need for support and assistance in rebuilding our lives amidst the ongoing crisis.

Now, homeless, struggle to find a safe place for my children and my family.
Amidst the chaos, my wife gave birth to our 3rd child, now 3 months old. We struggle to provide milk and diapers for her and her one-and-three months-year-old brother.

Everyday, I witness my three years old daughter crying and screaming in her sleep, traumatized by the air strikes. My children are always sick due to immunodeficiency and the healthy environment

My wife, mother, sister and I suffer psychological from constant displacement as we try to scape danger.
The money we collect will be allocated to cover the expensive travel expenses of me and my family members. I'm aiming to evacuate me, my wife, my children (3 children), my mother and my sister to provide them with temporary shelter, and provide the necessary needs during this difficult period.
To be able to leave , a special coordination is needed for all of us.That coordination is very costly (5000$ ) for each adult , total of 27,500 USD for the coordination and other expenses illustrated as below:
* Renewing family passport’s and trying to apply for visa.
* Renting coast for four months at least (apartment consist of 3 rooms for us) for residency in Egypt.
* Babies needs ( kindergarten fees for my biggest child Kenzy, milk and diapers for my 6 months old daughter Karma and her one-and-five months-year-old Ali brother)
* Clothing and essential stuff
* Health check for my wife Yasmeen since she had a delivery during genocide and had some infection and she needs medication
* My younger sister is trying to apply for scholarships to start studying, and she will need an application fees
* GoFundMe fees

and neither I and my family do not have now after i and my family used all our savings trying to secure us in a safe place (now we are in Rafah Area) and get us the food we need , which is by the way is very expensive if found, food prices and drinkable water prices have multiplied by 5 comparing to the days before October 7th 2023.
This is a call to action for anyone who believes in the power of humanity to change lives. With your help, we can offer my family a future filled with hope, security, and the opportunity to rebuild in a place where peace is not just a dream, but a reality , and to give us a chance to live in peace and harmony with no concern to lose anyone from my family. where education try to enroll my sister (High school graduated with 91%) in university to start her first year of education as (Design and programming mobile applications) and personal development are accessible to all.
In these trying times, I often find solace in the happy memories I shared with my children, Kenzy and Ali, before the events of October 7. Those moments of joy and comfort are what keep us hopeful for better days ahead. I remember our laughter, our playful evenings, and the simple joys of being together as a family. These memories are a beacon of hope, reminding us of the happiness that we aim to reclaim.
