Mein Name ist Lena Whooo , 26 Jahre alt und erst kürzlich in Berlin lebend.
Als freischaffende Künstlerin, Schauspielerin und Autorin setze ich mich extrem für Expressivität und individuelle Selbstentwicklung ein - im schulischen Rahmen ist dafür aber leider nicht allzuviel Platz.
Seither arbeitete ich mindestens 3 Jobs (seit ich 16 bin) und habe ohne Bafög oder finanzielle Unterstützung meine Ziele wie ein AuPair Jahr und ein Auslandspraktikum erreicht sowie mein erstes Studium mit 1,9 abgeschlossen .
Anschließend habe ich mir den Mut gefasst, mich mit meiner Kunst und dem Schauspielen selbständig zu machen und mir dadurch Standbeine im Bereich der bildenden, darstellenden und literarischen Künste eigenständig aufgebaut - ich weiß also wahrlich, wie wichtig ein guter Arbeirsethos ist!

Doch eine hohe Arbeitsmoral allein reicht manchmal allein nicht aus, um die sich gesetzten Ziele auch zu erreichen! ☝
Nun stehe ich nach einem zusgesagten Teilstipendium an einer rennomierten New Yorker Schauspielschule vor der schwierigen Unmöglichkeit in Zeiten von Covid unglaublich viele Kosten zu decken. Diese kann ich mit meiner Selbstständigkeit - vor allem durch den Lockdown und den eingestellten Drehs, Ausstellungen und Lesungen - in keinster Form zusammen bekommen. Auch nicht mit Nebenjobs, wie dem Transkribieren von Audiomitschnitten, den Schichten als Aufsicht im (erneut geschlossenen) Museum oder als Sozialarbeiterin für den Notmütterdienst. Auch wenn mir mit dem Teilstipendum Kosten von 750$ wegfallen, muss ich etliche Dollar für diese Weiterbildung auftreiben.
Zu diesen Kosten zählen:
sowohl die Visa Gebühren (insg. 500$), die restlichen Stipendiumskosten (2.750$), als auch die selbst zu zahlende Unterkunft für den Zeitraum (ca. 1300$ für knapp 1.5 Monate) und diese Unkosten irgendwie zusammen zu kriegen. Nicht mit einbezogen habe ich übrigens Lebensunterhaltungskosten wie Essen, Trinken oder mal ins Theater gehen oder ähnliches... Das ebenfalls ist ein Betrag in tausendhöhe, da diese Kosten in den USA wirklich sehr hoch sind.

Aus dem Grunde richte ich mich nun an euch - meine möglichen UnterstützerInnen!
Denn schon mit Baby-Beträgen ist mir weitergeholfen, da jeder Cent an dem Berg an Kosten etwas abbricht - und das allein wäre eine wunderschöne Entwicklung! Klar wäre es auch einfach wunderbar zu sehen, dass ich nicht nur alleine an meine Ziele und Träume glaube, sondern tolle Menschen bereits hinter mir stehen und mich und mein Vorhaben, aber in dem Sinne auch Künstler in wirklich schwierigen Zeit unterstützen!
In diesem Sinne freue ich mich riesig über kleine sowie große Beträge, die hier ankommen.

My name is Lena Whooo, 26 y/o and recently living in Berlin. As a freelance artist, actress and author, I am extremely committed to encouraging self expression and individual self-development - unfortunately there is not much space for individual learning like that in the school system.
Since I was graduating from 13th grade I have achieved my goals; goals such as an AuPair year and an internship abroad and more. I always worked at least 3 jobs since I am 16 and hustled through my studies at university without any help of student loans or financial support.
So I truly know how important a good work ethic is! I still need it every day, since I have taken the courage to set up my own business with my art, acting and literature (check out my website for that!)
Well I learned, that good work ethics alone aren't enough to achieve you're set goals sometimes! ☝
Because I have received confirmation to study acting through a partial scholarship at the New York drama school, I am facing the impossible: covering an incredible number of costs - and that in times of Covid.
With my independent artist work - especially through the lockdown and the discontinued shoots, exhibitions and readings - I can't get this amount of money together by myself. Not even with the part-time jobs like transcribing audio recordings or with shifts as supervisior in the museum.
Even if the partial scholarship saves me costs of $ 750, I have to raise several dollars for this further education.
These costs include:
to somehow collect the visa fees (a total of $ 500), the remaining scholarship costs ($ 2,750), as well as the self-paying accommodation for the period (approx. $ 1300 for almost 1.5 months) and more expenses. I didn't even include the costs of living, such as eating, drinking or going to the theater or something like that... That also is an monetary amount in the thousands, since living costs are really high in the USA.
I shared my confirmation email from the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts with you in the german version (just scroll up a bit), so you can read it yourself.
That's my situation - which is why I am now addressing you - my possible supporters!
Because even with little baby amounts my cause is being supported, because every cent tears down this huge mountain of costs - and that alone would be a wonderful development!
Of course, it would also be wonderful to see that it's not just me believing in my goals and dreams, but that great people like yourself are support me and my project!
Especially as an artists in these really difficult times! For that matter, I am very happy about the smallest (but also largest) amounts that arrive here.
