Fighting with Adel

Some of us know Adel as a culinary expert, some of us know him as professional mentor, and others just know him as a great friend and good person. Adel was born in Cairo Egypt, sibling to six, father of two, and a proud Grandpa 4 times. Now a proud American and someone that needs our assistance.
In September of 2019 Adel went to the hospital with low platelets and on October 3rd was diagnosed with Leukemia. Adel was immediately admitted for aggressive CHEMO treatments which have not yet stopped. He has been hospitalized 6 times and has spent over 4 months in the hospital in an attempt to irradiate the cancer cells in his blood and bone marrow so he can receive a bone marrow transplant.
Doctors have been successful only to have it return. Three weeks ago Adel checked into Hackensack Medical Center for a Bone Marrow Transplant. He just completed an additional round of CHEMO and is hoping to start his Bone Marrow Transplant in 3 to 4 weeks. Afterwards he will remain in the Hackensack Medical Center for 2 to 3 months depending on the transplant results.
This puts him back at home in VA around early November. Adel was furloughed from his Director of Food & Beverage position in May and admitted back in the Hospital. He has not worked for over 2 ½ months, COVID-19 has complicated matters considering his comprised immune system.
He has become extremely challenged financially with Medical, Transportation, Drugs and maintaining his home in VA while being in the Hospital in NJ for an estimated 4 months. Alana has been by his side over the past 9 months and all his Doubletree Co-Worker and friends in VA have provided moral support and assistance during his very difficult fight for his life. Now we want to help him complete his transplant, move back home in Virginia and regain a normal life and healthy future.
We want to provide financial support as a response to all the good Adel has done over the years in our lives and many others. He has remained more positive than one could ever expect under extremely difficult Cancer Treatments and his life being turned completely upside down. Prior to his Leukemia and true to form, he was the 5am Manager, late night weekend catering/banquet professional and still at the top of his career.
Thank you in advance for any consideration and Adel would completely understand with the Economy and challenges we all are experiencing during this Pandemic if you are unable to financially assist.
He is also writing a cook book of his incredible recipes many of us have been able to enjoy over the years. More to come.
