The Home Going of Femi Oyewole
Donation protected
On May 9th 2016, my Daddy, Olufemi Anibilabake Oyewole passed away in his sleep. He leaves behind two beloved daughters: my sister Funmi Oyewole and I, Adesola Oyewole. Also left behind are his siblings; Aunty Kehinde, Uncle Idowu, Aunty Ronke, Uncle Wale, Uncle Ayo, Aunty Bimbo, Uncle Kunle, and Aunty Dupe. If you knew daddy, you know that my little sister Funmi and I were his greatest pride and joy. Daddy never went a day with out calling us…and though he wasn’t always near in distance, he made sure we felt his presence every single day. When daddy became ill he was determined not to let anything separate or come in between us. He was there for every graduation and every celebration. As hard as it tried, the illness in dad’s body could not overpower the love he held in his heart for us. When daddy survived a massive stroke in August of last year I knew God kept him alive for my sister and me. Dad always wanted to be sure we were internally and externally preparing ourselves for a great future. He wanted to be sure that we would be able to thrive in life even in his absence. Dad recently found out my little sister is getting married and that I have been accepted into medical school. He often expressed that he was the luckiest man in the world, even in his condition. His mission in life was to ensure that Funmi and I would succeed and I believe he knew his mission had been accomplished. If there is any peace in my heart today it is from knowing that daddy laid to rest full of pride and beaming with joy for his two beloved daughters. I would like to thank my Aunty Kenny and Uncle Pedro for physically taking care of dad during his ailment. I would also like to thank daddy’s friend Uncle Akin for stepping up and being there for him. Daddy loved life, his family, his friends (Uncle Lary, Uncle Wale Bolaji Akinyemi, Bele Bamgboye, Tunji Goyea, Akin Ogunpide, Yisola Olusanye, Kola Adebesin, Yetunde Martins, Wale Coker, and Femi Olomu), music (specifically Fela), and spending time with those around him. Our family would like to celebrate dad’s life and accomplishments in an honorable manner. The arrangements are currently pending, but God willing, we hope to send him up in the next 3 weeks. In order to do this we are humbly accepting your donations to help us celebrate dad’s life. If you would like to contribute you can easily do so through GoFundMe. Funds may also be sent directly to Aunty Kenny or myself; if you prefer to contribute this way please call or text (phone numbers listed below) for any additional/necessary information. Funmi and I greatly appreciate your support and generosity during this difficult time. All funds raised will go toward the home going celebration.
