Help Boy Scout Troop 76 commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sgt. Felix M. Del Greco's ultimate sacrifice and support his family's memorial scholarship. Scouts from Troop 76 will "ruck march" through Simsbury on Saturday, April 5 to keep Felix's memory alive in the troop and community.
Felix died while serving in Iraq on Apri 9, 2004, the first member of the Connecticut Army National Guard to be killed there. Felix was also a Troop 76 Eagle Scout who always gave back to others. The boys will carry rocks in their backpacks, just like Felix did in high school to get in shape for joining the Guard -- one of the many great stories about Felix that we want to keep alive.
The Del Greco family's memorial scholarship benefits members of the Connecticut National Guard and seniors in Troop 76 who stayed active in the troop throughout high school. If you'd like to donate to the Military Order of the Purple Heart instead (no reward), just leave a note.
All donations are deposited directly to Boy Scout Troop 76, and will be disbursed from there to the scholarship fund and Military Order of the Purple Heart.
