Calling all Family, Friends and Loved Ones
On March 10, 2016 Felicia Howe (35 years young) a mother of three gorgeous small children; Maggie (11), Cali (8) and Cruz (6) and wife of John; was diagnosed with Follicular lymphoma. Follicular lymphoma is a type of blood cancer. It is the most common of the indolent (slow-growing) non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, and the second-most-common form of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas overall. While difficult to hear of her diagnoses, we have found comfort to have learned she caught it early and in "grade" one (similar to stage one). The GREAT news is... it is non-aggressive which will allow for treatment.
Felicia, John and her amazing team of doctors have decided on a treatment which will consist of 2 rounds of Chemotherapy and a "smart" drug called Rituxan that will target the infected lymphnodes directly. Her treatments will be every Tuesday and Wednesday, for several months until treated. Her first treatment started this week and unfortunately Felicia had a bit of an allergic reaction which may slow the process BUT it's nothing she can't handle.
As we all know: doctor visits, treatments and prescriptions add up very quickly even with the help of medical insurance. John and Felicia are going through a tough journey and need to focus their energy and attention on beating this. Financial stress should not be something they should or need to worry about. She’s never been one to ask for help and doesn’t like being the center of attention, but she cannot fight this alone and shouldn’t have to. That's why we need all of us to unite and assist Felicia with this FIGHT. We are asking you to come together at this time and help Felicia with these unexpected expenses. Any contribution is helpful. No donation is too small.
Please take into consideration that Felicia is a private person and although she really, really appreciates everyone’s support; she absolutely does not want to feel pitied upon but rather keep the same energy and positive vibe and as much ‘normalcy’ as possible. I know it’s easier said than done. Felicia believes in the power of prayer, positive energy and good vibes! We ask you for your good thoughts and prayers during this time!
On a side note, her kids do not know at this time. Lisha and John will decide when and IF they decide to tell them, they will do so when they feel it is necessary, so please keep that in mind. We would love for you to share this link via e-mail with others BUT
Please, Please, Please do not share on Social Media at this time.
We don’t need to tell you what a wonderful mother, wife, sister, daughter, cousin, and friend Felicia is as we know she has touched you all in one way or another. She is a beautiful soul with a contagious smile, a passion for life and so much love for her family and friends. She is a fighter, she is the toughest friend I know and she WILL beat this, she will kick cancer’s ASS!!
Thank you in advance for your kind donations, prayers and continued support.
