Happy New Year, my friends!
I'm personally inviting you to join me for a 3-day house build in Ensenada, Mexico on Friday February 26 with a return date of Sunday February 28. The house build is organized through Baja Bound, www.bajabound.org benefiting a local family that is living under little more than a tarp with dirt floors. I'll have info for you soon about the specific family and their needs.
A team of 30 will build a 16' x 20' house with loft and electrical wiring- start to finish. I've been on two of these builds in the past, and it can be done. No experience or skill in construction needed- just an open heart and willingness to serve! There will also be time for creative programming for children, feeding programs and orphanage service projects.
The tax-deductible cost is $315 per person, which includes all food, housing in the gated Baja Bound beach house, and van transportation Friday through Sunday. It also covers the cost of construction supplies. Feel free to contact friends and family to see if they will offer tax-deductible financial support for your fee to join on this special weekend. You may also want to check with your company to see if they offer company matching on charity gifts.
For those not able to join us on the build, but still wish to donate, you can choose the "Love From Afar" reward and enter the amount of your choice. Any gift amount is deeply appreciated.
If you're not able to stay both nights, you're welcome to come down in your own vehicle for one night, or, just for the day. We'll have a van or two to bring the team from San Diego to Ensenada and back. The build site is 2.5 hours south of San Diego. The ride is beautiful and interesting as we drive along the coast.
You will need a passport to get into and out of Mexico.
