Dear Friends and Family,

We are excited to announce that the Faygen family is moving to Florida to take part in a new Shlichus!

With Hashem's help, Yosef will serve as the full-time Federal Prison Chaplain at FCC Coleman, the largest federal correctional complex in the country. Chana will be teaching the 5th grade at Orlando Jewish Day School, and arranging extracurricular Chassidishe programming for the local teens.

As a chaplain, Yosef is excited to be a kind and loving presence to the Jewish and gentile inmates, and to serve as a reminder that there is hope even for those who have done the unthinkable. He will have the opportunity to support inmates in their religious observance of the 613 or the 7 Mitzvos and growing their relationship to Hashem, and to help them rehabilitate and re-enter society, as per the Rebbe's instruction. The goal is to bring light to one of the darkest places an individual could be in. Practically, this will include providing spiritual needs such as Kosher food and Tefillin, as well as teaching classes and being an individual support to each inmate.

Chana believes that Yiddishkeit can and should feel beautiful, exciting, and relevant. She is excited to build meaningful relationships with and be mechanech her elementary students and teens to find Jewish joy and pride for themselves, and to feel inspired to share it with others.

Together, we will also be actively involved in supporting local community life.

Moving our family and establishing a home base to launch these initiatives will require significant resources. Between relocating, setting up a home, and getting started in our new positions, we’ve set a goal of raising $20,000 to help us make this transition.
