Honor Justin's Memory: Support His Family and Friends

Justin was dedicated. Dedicated to his profession, to his friends, to his mother, to his hospitality family and community. He took what he did, and who he was, seriously. He knew he made an impact. He spoke very fondly of his time at both Merlin’s Rest & Ngon Bistro. Not to mention his career with Doc Martin. He loved being behind the camera, preferring the unknown results and old school … everything. He believed in things that were well made and substantial. Boots, cocktails, people.

There is so much to say about Justin, and so many sentiments have already been shared through the social media of Meritage. We encourage folks to continue - share a memory, a sentiment, a quote. Justin was the type of human who saw you - he noticed and he cared. This effected many folks, and in his role as bartender/caretaker/confessor/priest, it is no mistake that his Instagram is Father_J

Let’s blow it up! Follow him and tag him in any & all images we have of him. We die two deaths. The first of our body. The second when our name is spoken for the very last time. Let’s continue to speak this one, and spread the awareness and kindness that Justin was known for.

Justin was a huge presence in his community, and a huge presence for those who loved him the most. After the loss of both of her sons, Carla could really use some big support, and we know Justin would want her to have it to ease the worry, especially during this time of deep loss. Conner and DeVante need some time and space to grieve and not sweat the rent or to have to hurry-up to fill Justin’s space.

His Meritage family has created this GoFundMe for Justin’s mother and his roommates, to assist them financially during this unfortunate transition, and to provide for the necessary end of life expenses. The fund goes directly to Carla. We will share this at Meritage, and we hope you will share it too. This is one of those times where a village can make a difference.
