Help South Haiti from Hurricane

Hi, I'm Jake.  I'm a former Peace Corps Volunteer, and also lucky to have  found a life partner who shares in the same joy in giving back.  My wife was born in Haiti, and still has a lot of family in both Port-au-Prince and areas in and around Les Cayes.  Together we live in Homestead, Florida - about as close to Haiti as you can get in the U.S.

Our family visits Haiti often to conduct health fairs, by donating our time and professional resources to help people in need of basic health care services.  

We recently returned from a trip to Haiti to help in the Hurricane Matthew relief. 

With the $6,650 we raised (as of 11/24/16) we:

·  Supplied 408 metal roofing sheets and nails to the greater Rousseau area.


·  Provided 1,000 people with packages of dry food; consisting of rice, corn meal, dried fish, oil, and onion.


·  Distributed school and hygiene supplies, and a cooked meal to 750 school aged kids.


·  Gave seeds to farmers for replanting: okra, millet, corn, beans


· Treated 200 people at a health clinic (first aid, medicine).


We are still trying to reach our goal of $10,000 in order to revisit in early 2017.

100% of your money will be used for Haitians affected by Hurricane Matthew.  

**No money will be spent on our travel nor personal expenses incurred.  

I will withdraw the funds and use some of it ahead of our trip to buy supplies, with the remainder taken down on our visit.   We have family members in Haiti to assess the needs - both immediate and long term.
