Family home destroyed

Hello to everyone reading this. I thank you for thanking the time to do so.

In the early hours of November 11, 2022, while we were sleeping, I was awakened suddenly by my nephew,Chad screaming that there was a fire. There was thick black smoke everywhere. I grabbed the only things I could, which were my purse and my dog,Bruno. The second and third floors of our home were engulfed in flames. That's where my daughter,Erin and 5 year old, grandson,Ezra,were. My nephew and I were on the first floor and basement, respectively.

As my nephew and I got outside, the fire department was already on scene. My daughter and my grandson were nowhere to be found. I heard terrifying sounds of my daughter screaming from the roof, but my 5 year old grandson was stuck in his bedroom due to the raging flames and smoke. The incredible Baltimore City Fire Department and paramedics were able to rescue and resuscitate Ezra. My daughter and grandson spent days in the ICU but are now recovering at a friend's home. The fire was caused by an electrical short in the wall.

Our home is uninhabitable and most of our belongings were lost due to the fire,smoke and or water damage. We were only able to salvage a few items. Our family has been displaced and separated. We are grateful to all be alive and to have friends that have temporarily taken us in. Our home of over 40 years must be gutted and the interior reconstructed.

The initial estimate is based on the demolition process and partial reconstruction. We also need funds for clothes, essentials,food,taxes and utilities. The full cost of rebuilding has not been determined.

We didn't know where else to turn, and we are truly grateful for any and all help. We look forward to the day when we can all be back together,under one roof. For now, God's grace is holding us and we are thankful for our friends who have given us shelter and comfort.
