Falling Elsewhere- The Care We Seek

Dear my beloved dance community and beyond,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share an exciting and meaningful project that is close to my heart, and my wish is that it will resonate with your heart as well.

On March 29th and 30th, I will be presenting what would be the result of a transformative choreographic residency with 8 world class artists that will show explorations of 2 repertory works and a new creation called "falling elsewhere." This captivating journey will delve into the physical and metaphorical aspects of falling, shifting, and transcending boundaries through the desires of human connection and the many complexities that comes with.

These performances will be held at Arts on Site 12 Saint Marks Pl, New York, NY 10003

I have decided to begin the show with 2 previous works of mine (while I was a student and The Juilliard School) and a new creation titled "Falling Elsewhere". The choreography, weaving elements of gravity, suspension, and disorientation, will create a multi-dimensional experience challenging conventional notions of space and movement. Dancers will navigate a dynamic landscape, embodying the concept of "falling elsewhere" by blending controlled descents with weightless moments.

This exploration holds immense personal importance as it speaks to the very essence of change, adaptation, and the constant pursuit of uncharted territories. The concept of "falling elsewhere" not only mirrors my own journey but also carries a broader societal relevance by metaphorically addressing societal shifts and transitions.

The funds will be allocated as follows:

1. Compensation for Artists:

- Rehearsals and Show Fee for each artist: Ensuring fair payment for the time and effort invested by the artists in both rehearsals and performances.

2. Studio Rentals:

- Covering the costs associated with renting rehearsal spaces, providing a conducive environment for artists to practice and perfect their performances.

3. Costume Budget:

- Allocating funds for the creation, purchase, or rental of costumes, contributing to the visual and thematic aspects of the show.

4. Videographer for Shows and Dress Rehearsal:

- Hiring a professional videographer to capture high-quality footage of all four shows, including the dress rehearsal, preserving the performances for archival purposes or future promotional material.

These allocations aim to support the artistic process, enhance the overall quality of the productions, and ensure fair compensation for everyone involved.
