Help Ashley Fight Cancer While Caring for Her Newborn
This past week, Ashley should have been soaking in the joy of welcoming her baby girl, Autumn. Instead, she is facing the fight of her life. During an emergency C-section one month early, doctors removed what was believed to be a cyst on her ovary. It wasn’t. Ashley was diagnosed with a high-grade malignant immature teratoma—an aggressive form of cancer that now requires urgent chemotherapy. During that surgery, one ovary was removed. There is also a mass on her remaining ovary, and while doctors are hoping to spare it, there is a possibility it may need to be removed as well.
Ashley is only 31 years old. She’s a devoted mom of two, including her newborn who needs her more than ever. But chemotherapy brings heartbreaking challenges—she won’t be able to breastfeed and must limit close contact with her baby during treatment. For a new mother, that loss is devastating. This comes after an already unimaginable year. Seven months ago Ashley lost her twin sister unexpectedly. She endured a complicated pregnancy and was placed on bed rest, and now—while still recovering from major surgery—she must begin cancer treatment. Her husband has used most of his leave caring for Ashley and their children and will soon have to return to work. Meanwhile, Ashley may need to relocate three hours away for treatment so family can help care for baby Autumn. With Ashley unable to work, the weight of travel, housing, childcare, and everyday expenses will quickly become overwhelming.
This is where we can step in. Your support will assist with travel and possible relocation costs, provide stability for their children during this uncertain time, and allow Ashley to focus on healing instead of financial stress. Ashley is strong—but she shouldn’t have to carry this alone. If you’re able, please consider donating. And if you can’t give financially, sharing this page means just as much. Every prayer, every share, and every dollar makes a difference. Let’s surround Ashley and her family with the love and support they need right now.
