Hurricane Maria Relief 4 PR ,FPREOK

The beautiful island of Puerto Rico, an American territory located in the Caribean Sea, has recently endured the devasting blow of a Hurricane  Maria. Less than two weeks less ago, the people of Puerto Rico having not yet fully recovered from the previous onslaught of Hurricane Irma, lend a fraternal hand to their neighbors and become a central hub of disater relief and humanitarian efforts in the Caribbean region. Now the tables have turned, and Puerto Rico needs your immediate help while standing up after surving a direct hit from a montrous Category 4 hurricane.

The situation of Puerto Rico in simple terms is desperate. Having to survive two major Hurricanes in close proximity to each other,  while hanging in the shadow of a lingering financial crisis is a recipe for a human catastrophe.

We have been quick to respond to the crisis lived by our brothers and sisters in Houston and South Florida. Let's not forget our fellow Americans in the Caribbean and please help the 3.5 million residents of Puerto Rico overcome the massive challenge of rebuilding and restoring not only their homes but also bringing a sense of normality to their lives. Due to the complicated geography of our Island, it is expected that the restoration of basic services like running water and electricity will be delayed for several months.

The Puerto Rican Foundation would be deeply honored with your assistance in helping the recovery of our beloved families. During the upcoming month of October, members of our foundation will travel at our own expense to Puerto Rico and join the ranks of workers supporting disaster relief efforts. We assure you that your contributions will be placed where there are needed.  Also please remember that the Puerto Rican Foundation of Oklahoma is a federally recognized non-profit 501(c)(3).  Contributions made to federally recognized non-profits (such as 501(c)(3) organizations are tax deductible for the person or entity giving the donation.
